Your banner looks crap, but try [img]http://www.hederahelix.nl/fastlane/bannerfastlane49.gif[/img]. It must work unless Paul disabled this function.

Erwin used HTML code in his signature, which is by default disabled in the profiles. To make his banner visible to everyone (better not, though), he's got to use the BBCode instead.

You could do it in PNG and it'll give as much compression as GIF and look as good as an uncompressed BMP.

The logo at the top of the forum is PNG and it's only 35kb in size.
