Bottom post of the previous page:
The left 'lobe' of Nepliget Park. The original layout is basically all there except for one corner in the top right of the image, which is now just a straight, because of a power station that was built in the park. Apparently it's not the safest place to go for a walk...Old aerial shots of circuits (incl. Silverstone, Brands...)

From experience, it's a horse track, it most always is horse tracks. Also it is at the same spot the Hippodrome des Hunaudières is today.

You beat me to it.... I know there is a Le Mans horse racing track. It still exists and is in regular use. In fact there was a race meeting there just 2 weeks ago.Michkov wrote: ↑1 year agoFrom experience, it's a horse track, it most always is horse tracks. In fact https://www.horseracing24.com/france/le-mans/
To show just how close it is to the car race circuit is this screencap of the aerial google map of the racecourse, showing Le Mans car track very close,

Another thing that you will see in the aerial shots is this. I think some people believe this is the old Sudkurve, but actually it seems that this was part of a circuit extension that was due to be either constructed from, or used from 1939 onwards but was never completed:
Maybe @sebbbl knows more about this.
The old Sudkurve was actually here where Burger King is now.

Thank you very much! Very interesting - especially the Südkehre halfway down the straights that was used between 1951 and 1988. Very strange as it was only built in 1950/51 I thoughtPTRACER wrote: ↑1 year ago How about a 22,000 pixel wide aerial photo of AVUS in 1928? (@sebbbl )

I think that is a mix of various pictures from different times. A simple U-turn was first used in that area in 1938, but not that bend...

These are the remains of the planned and never finished southern loop. It was built in 1939/40 and later used as a shooting range for US military.PTRACER wrote: ↑1 year ago Another thing that you will see in the aerial shots is this. It was supposed to be much bigger that the Nordkurve.
