I found an article about a funny and not race-related incident at the AVUS circuit:





A motorcycle wanted to drive through the North Curve, which is forbidden. A police vehicle started to pursuit the rider and crashed down the steep banking as it was too slow... Two police men were injured. The rider escaped. Must have been in the late 50s or early 60s.

Southkurve which remembered F1 racing on it is gone... Beside flat Nordkurve, some barriers there and fences, grandstand it's hard to find remains of AVUS for people non-racing circuits freaks like I am

RBB recently showed plans for the future of the Grandstand, interesting is that the owner wishes to see Formula E at AVUS one day.

looks like the Nordkurve will disappear in the next decade. there are plans to rebuild the Autobahndreieck Funkturm.

That's a shame, I hate to see historic things disappear.

False alarm - that's not an autobahn plan, it's just a spaghetti dish!
