Percat 4th in points. Guess the old Le Brocq ride is doing well while it looked like Percat was very much in decline the last couple of years. Of course these teams could have Car A and Car B approach and Hill is hardly making headlines in season two.

That was a stupid crash. Obviously Payne moved across like Waters wasn't there, but I don't think that would have ever worked out for Cam anyway since he would have ended up on the outside of Payne going on to the main straight. He probably would have ended up getting passed by the Red Bull as well.

Apparently it all got a bit lively post race with opinions and blame being pushed around. Even sponsors got involved......

Grove sponsor’s wild ‘offer’ to Waters after Payne clash

Grove Racing sponsor Ned Whisky has weighed into the Cam Waters-Matt Payne crash at Albert Park with a particularly cheeky open letter to the Tickford Racing driver.

The Australian whisky brand has made an offer to Waters of free shipping on its products if he uses the discount code “SALTYCAM,” in a humorous take on the clash which cost both drivers a shot at victory in Race 5 of the Supercars Championship.

The Ned team has also given a blunt assessment of the incident in said open letter, which was posted on its social media channels and reads as follows:

Dear Cam Waters, an open letter from NED Whisky.

G’day Cam! Hope you’re well mate. Hell of a weekend at the Aussie Grand Prix, we were stoked to see yourself and our boy Matty Payne on the front row for this evening’s race!

It was a great move by Matty out the back to take back the lead, unfortunately it all got a bit messy at the end of that lap.

You see, at NED Australian Whisky we love being passionate, brave and daring. Sometimes it goes your way, sometimes it doesn’t. That’s why our whisky has flavours of beautiful honey, vanilla and caramel and not salty tears.

Justunder 10 minutes until the start of the final race of the weekend for Supercars.

The cars of Waters and Payne have both been repaired and work was in prgress for much of the night, certainly well into the AM hours here. Waters car was actually badly damaged and needed chassis and front clip repairs, and even new exhaust headers to replace the ones crushed yestrday. His nw car did not remain new for too long.

Cars are now heading out from the collection area to grid up. Mostert on pole for the 14 lap race and the two that tangled yesterday, Matt Payne and Cameron Waters in 2nd and 3rd. Percat is the first Camaro in 4th. Th Red Bull pair of Feeney and Brown are 6th and. 9th so they have a job ahead of them to get through to the front in just 14 laps.

Can Ford keep their shit together for long enough to finally win a race this season.. Theoretically its their race to lose but they found it pretty easy to screw it all up yesterday with nothing more than stupidity. Mostert has had problems getting his car off the line this weekend and yesterday in particular made a complete mess of it. I think a new clutch has been installed for today and hopefully Chaz can get the start right.

Engines fired up and the warm up lap is underway. Cooler conditions than yesterday given its still quite early morning here. All a bit cloudy still and the sun is yet to break through. Good conditions for a tyre though.

ADP is a non starter today but have to say I just saw. that and dont know the rason why.

Payne gets the jump on Mostert and Percat has jumped Waters. Fairly clean start. Feeney and Brown up to 5th and 6th.

Well that didnt take long.... Mostert and Payne escort each other off the road and Turn 12 chicane and we have Percat leading Feeney with Waters 3rd.

So now we have Percat from Feeney Brown Waters Mostert Randle . Payne is right at the back aftr getting in the lead from the start.

Brown gets past Waters so back to a Camaro 1-2-3.

5 second penalty for Fullwood. Percat still leading Feeney.

Lol Feeney got alongside Percat but Prcat chopped him off and kept his position. Brown decided to have a go at Feeney and they spent a coiuple of corners side by side. Brown finally got the move done so Feeney drops to 3rd. Mostert also up to 4th ahead of Waters and Randle.

Brown is closing on Percat but not by enough to make a move yet. Brown is up 7 spots from the start to he knows his way round Albert Park.

Brown is now close to Percat and Feeney has dropped off a bit. Lap 13/14 and Brown is close enough to make a move. Percat defending well though and certainly doing a decent job

Final lap and if anything Percat has stretched his lead by a tenth. Brown is good on brakes though and just needs to get close enough for a lunge.

Further back Hill is off and in the gravek.
