2 laps to go and Feeney suddenly has 2 seconds over Brown who is himself almost need ing to defend from Payne

Feeney wins and gets Fastest Lap 5 point bonus. That will put him ahead of Brown in the title. Payne ran wide at the end of the last lap and Percat beats him on track but has a penalty so Payne will keep his 3rd.

Yeah I have to admit it was far better than I expected it to be.

Just the one race and no other Supercars track activity tomorrow.

Hopefully that might bring us the first non T888 win of the season..

Looks like there was some panel beating in there and de Pasquale never had the speed to win the race even if he didn't make that mistake in T3 anyway.

At least we know the cars are quite durable given Evans' whack in the last corner and he was able to cycle around albeit 4-5 secs off the pace per lap. Guess nobody cares about meatball flags, huh?

I'm curious to see what Waters can do from pole in Race 2.

Didnt realise at the time but the Feeney Brown Payne podium yesterday was the youngest in the history of Supercars / ATCC.

Anyway, cars are in the pre grid about to go to the grid proper, so it shouldnt be too long before the race is underway.

Waters on pole so maybe he can get his season off to a decent recovery after a dismal round 1 at the Bathurst 500.

They gridded up and straight into the warm up lap with barely a break.

19 laps again today with no pitstops as yesterday.

Behind Waters the grid order for the top 10 is Brown, Feeney, Winterbottom, Payne, De Pasquale, Le Brocq, Davison, Mostert and Stanaway.

Hopefully a clean race.

Payne lost a lot of places at the start but has got back to 7th passing Percat.
