Interesting to see that I calculated this before even opening this thread and it's within a few tenths of most other laptimes here!
You "calculated"? #HowDoesItWork
I did some calculations too
Me too..... we should soon get an idea as to who is going to be close.
My calculations were just a straight reverse phycology. I looked back to when the chicane was added and it slowed them by 7 seconds per lap. So I have just taken 7 seconds from last year near enough. Originally I was going to go with an 11.888 but then saw no one had gone for an 11, other than Ruslan who went for a low 11.... very brave I thought, so went for a lower 12 than others.
The first laps are mid 17's, so faster than last years pole already.

I looked at the last time that track layout was used, checked how much difference the pole time on other races we've had this season were to their time back then and sort of worked it out from there. We have a bigger range this race, from Ruslan's 1:11.136 to Megallos with his 1:13.488.
To be honest, we're all just guessing and hoping we might be close. I'm just glad we didn't have to consider a potentially wet qualifying, I think my head might have exploded then

Rain is showing as possible between 12 and 3:00pm!
In 2006, the last time this track configuration was used I believe, the fastest time for FP1 was 1:15.796 and pole was 1:14.648.
Max is currently at 1:15.945. Hmm, I am thinking most of us have gone way too low. I know it's too early to say that perhaps, but that is my thinking so far.
