And yes, I am sour on Ericsson's 2nd place.

So....three red flags at the end of the race, but they ended up racing and it not being decided by yellows. Is this better than what F1 does?

No.

But I will say this: if F1 had three red flags, the race would still be running. Indycar's car start procedures are so much faster. But Indycar also wastes too much time then puttering along behind the safety car.

The final restart showed they can do it quickly without dicking around if they want to.

I do wonder if they would even call the final red IF Newgarden was leading though? The leader on the restart in this aero package is destined to get swamped one way or another even if Ericsson went early as hell to try and do something about it. It's not like they would wave the start off with only one lap left?

Great little interview with JoNew.

He's clean-cut and doesn't say stupid things. But at the same time, he doesn't come across as that "PR polished" sportsperson who has to stop a moment and think about "the right thing" to say.

I'm pretty confident that he's a genuinely nice guy.
