I am not sure if this is all done to impress young audience (and drop the old one), or this is a case of a guy with money whistling his tune. It is probably redundant to mention that I know nothing much about his world, beautiful as it might be. (Too old for that kind of music.)

Plenty time on hands with rumours and speculations.
While Mattia Binotto has been rumoured to be fancied for the team principal job, rumours about the likes of Lando Norris and Max Verstappen have come and gone since Audi were first touted for F1.
However, Barretto believes it's a certain French driver who may be making a splash with Sauber CEO Andrea Seidl. Ocon's current contract runs out with Alpine at the end of 2024.
I am not sure what is Barretto insisting scarring me so early. I guess they have to write something, but replacing AAB with MB? Why would Andreas do that? (Unless AAB wants out, of course, and we don't know about that.) If they take MB on board early, how this would work with Key? Key focus on design, Mattia 2026 team structure, and AAB racing management for next two years? AAB will not have time to cover all just himself.

There are plenty of drivers contracts up this year. In fact only 5 drivers have at this stage got a contract in place for next year (although Sainz and Leclerc are supposedly in place as well bar the signatures.
There is a full diagram on this link which identifies what contracts are signed and indeed the current status / expiry of every drivers contract in the "Silly Season thread here.: viewtopic.php?t=17656&start=660#p454534
This year has the makings of being a very silly silly season.

Thanks, I am aware of it. Regarding Ocon as a potential candidate for Audi, discussion falls into 2026 season, a reason why it was slotted in Stake thread.
Shame that they are not continuing with their Dakar programme after just three years. The Dakar has been widely reported over the past two weeks here on the forum viewtopic.php?t=18187#p458280
Congrats to Sainz. One for the over 60's!

Apparently this is full name of the team. As painful it is to see it in print, hopefully people will reffer to it simply as "Sauber". As bad as it is, it is not at the level what owners have done to old Minardi by naming it "Visa CashApp". Probably worst team name in history of mainkind.
