The #83 has been given a 3 minute stop n go for causing the accident that took out the Corvette.

Perrodo it has to be said was gutted and was seen in the Corvette garage after apologising.

Mind you the Corvette guys were all pretty gutted themselves.

I stepped away for 20 minutes to ring my Mother (Sunday ritual!) and got back to see Safety cars out for a big crash from Frijns. Of course with the triple SC they use it did nothing to compress the field and bring the #7 and 8 Toyotas together, with each behind a different SC given the gap. It did however compress the closer grouped. leaders of GTE Pro.

Safety cars coming in now, and it seems the gap between the 7 & 8 Toyotas is larger than it was so the #7 has lost out.

The board equivalent of the Jody scheckter chicane. Fast but pointless

Eh, not the most memorable race. Like this whole era. Bring on 2023 I say. Will start actually at the next race at Monza, with Peugeot's debut.

Yep not an epic year, but it was still LM and it still sucked me in and it is still the only single event I buy the rights to watch it. Le Mans is more an event to me than a race, even though I have never been to Le Mans for the race. (Been to Le Mans and driven down the Mulsanne Straight many times but never in June, usually August when we would drive through it as a kid on the way to Spain for family holidays.)

Still watched it right through and I made it to the end. Had a couple of half hour shut eye sessions in front of my computer, and shared it with the GP trying to watch both simultaneously. And then the GP got boring so didnt even bother to watch that to the end and back to Le Mans full time...

To go to the event one year is on my bucket list and a must do
. Thinking the 100th anniversary would be a good one..... and as @Cheeveer said, the regs are better then than current, I know Cheeveer went one year and I remember how jealous I was. I dont just want to go on raceday I want to go for as much of the week as possible.

Actually i forgot the F1 race, which i am watching now. I love Le Mans, even when the outcome was pretty obvious. The battle in LMP2 and the GT's made up a lot.

Yeah I think this year in particular I really followed the classes more than the outright. Usuall I am more into the outright primarily, happy to watch the classes racing but not following their ups and downs too much.Lets face it this year the outright was a bit naff in terms of the contest between teams, especially after the #7 "Control Alt Delete" hiccup.

Interesting....

Just a thought but with the Glick, I think this year is the first time we have had an American car on the overall podium for many years......

in fact since......1969 When we had 2xGT40's on the podium.

Albeit both run by an English team in the form of JW Automotive.

The 'Ford' (Mirage) entry in 1975 was again Wyer run and developed, powered by a Cosworth engine, and British to the core.

Actually the Audi entered by Audi North America entry that won in 2007 is about as close as it gets. :haha:
Corvette 4th overall in 2006.
Panoz got 5th overall in 2003
Cadillac never really featured.

Kudos to Glickenhaus though, to manage an LM24 overall podium for the US after so many years.

Also interesting that the fastest overall LMP2 driver over a stint was Nick de Vries.

All the more impressive considering he never tested the car prior, and only got the minimum laps to actually qualify to take part after his late (Friday) call up to drive the car by TDS, when the originally entered Philippe Cimadomo received an event ban after several incidents in the Thursday session.
