Bottom post of the previous page:

Sad news but not unexpected given previous comments and statements from Glick that a major sponsor was required..
I shall miss them. That thad had both cars beat the might of Porsche and Peugeot at Le Mans last year was great reward for all the money and effort thrown at the project. Plus of course they did score a podium in their Le Mans efforts. There is always something I like in an underdog competing at the top level.

That podium...... how proud does Jim Glick look standing there?

Of course this is the question that needs no answer. Gleckenhaus started the ball rolling to the surge of top level Sportscar racing we now enjoy and see more promise and involvement by others with every passing week.
Without Glickenhaus would the class even have got off the ground? A pair of Toyotas against an old ORECA P1 with an Alpine badge nailed to the front and a snazzy blue paint job wouldn’t have been much of a launchpad for the glorious era we are entering right now
Peugeot and Porsche have joined the WEC along with Ferrari and Cadillac since Glickenhaus last made it onto the podium. BMW, Alpine and Lamborghini will show up next year, and Aston Martin the year after, Plus of course perhaps the next Glickenhaus, the Italian Isotta Fraschini that should appear in '24.

And certainly one of the better looking cars, and the blue livery was more than pleasant. Take awat the silly fin and it reminds me of the trouser trouble inducing Lola T70 from way back.

A big shame to see it heading off into the sunset......

Alpine confirm their A434 WEC LMDh drivers for 2024 *Schumacher in**

Mick Schumacher will make his FIA World Endurance Championship debut as part of Alpine’s LMDh program next season, with Ferdinand Habsburg and Paul-Loup Chatin also part of the French squad’s lineup.

The three new signings are joined by Nicolas Lapierre, Charles Milesi and Matthieu Vaxiviere to form Alpine’s six-man driver crew for its return to Hypercar class competition.

Lapierre, Milesi and Vaxivieri have all been closely involved with the development of the A424 LMDh car, which recently (this last week) completed a 30-hour endurance test at Motorland Aragon.

The exact makeup of the driving crews, as well as the racing livery for the A424, will be revealed at a launch event on Feb. 7.
