It should be noted a large amount of Motorsports Games employees are Russian, the company claimed they couldn't be paid due to the Ukrainian war and offered them to move to the USA.
With a catch, they'd be paid 20% less.

Motorsport Games continues its death spiral, with an anonymous employee threatening to leak the source code of not one, not two, not three but FOUR games, claiming they aren't being paid.
And this is the same company who stole the non-exclusive IndyCar license from iRacing...
They've now announced that their Indycar game (which was announced in 2021 and was supposed to be coming out this year) won't be released until next year.

But they also don't have enough money to see out 2023...

Seems like NASCAR have had enough. There are also people saying that the company has already shutdown, Executives reportedly haven't been seen in their office for weeks.
Well it's almost July 2023. and the 2022 DLC for Heat 5 has finally come out. One week after a group of modders released a 2023 mod for the same game that's of a similar quality. The same group incidentally already released a full 2022 mod a month or two back.
The only advantage (aside from being available for console) that the DLC has over the mod is that you can run the Cup cars on Bristol Dirt and that they've done some slight physics edits (adding a 5th gear). Motorsport Games has not even added in new Atlanta, COTA or Nashville so you can't run the full schedule.

Looks like NASCAR has finally had enough of this garbage company
I'm surprised the company's stocks haven't crashed yet.
Imagine the future of NASCAR games. What do you think are the chances of a full 2023 or 2024 season game developed from/by iRacing? Online or Single Player. That would be awesome.

It'd be surprising if that happens because the gap MGI was filling was a "for the masses" type NASCAR game, so arcade physics and overall approach that's not too hardcore - iRacing doesn't do that, and they'll probably not do it well if they tried to. In that case, NASCAR should approach someone like Codemasters, who've been acing arcade/simcade forever, and who's parent company (EA) would love to have NASCAR in their portfolio again.

That's a shame because NR2003 is still massively popular.

After weeks of rumours, iRacing confirms the purchase of Motorsport Games’ official NASCAR licence, with a console game on its way.

The decision Penske Entertainment didn’t want to make with its beleaguered video game vendor was made for it on Tuesday when Motorsport Games announced, “the suspension of the development of our previously planned INDYCAR game, to decrease operating expenses whilst also removing projects that are underperforming or are unlikely to generate revenue.”
