Well everyone, @John whipped his wiener out on the corkscrew, indicating the end of the season and the start of a new thread.

Goodbye 2021, hello 2022 (in September!).

Plenty to discuss as the 2022 season shapes up.

I have been to one of Cart races at Belle Ilse. Not a bad place, but I think it would be better downtown.

Eh. Fine with either I guess. Would probably prefer it to remain on the Isle though.

So this came out as a rumour over the weekend: Toyota to Indycar.

And now Racer has spoken to Toyota and got... not much.

Speaking with Toyota Racing Development president Dave Wilson on Wednesday, the manufacturer’s American open-wheel interest was not confirmed or denied.

“Toyota and TRD are always having discussions within the garages that we currently compete as well as with other sanctioning bodies to ensure we keep up relationships and maintain a finger on the pulse of U.S. motorsports,” he told RACER.

“We enjoyed previous experience with CART and IndyCar and trust that under Roger Penske’s stewardship, IndyCar will continue to prosper. Right now, however, our focus is on our competition in NASCAR, IMSA, SRO, NHRA, Formula Drift, USAC, POWRi and Championship Off Road Racing.”

Belle Isle seems to be on the way out for 2023 Detroit wants to go back to the Renaissance Center. Cant say the new track looks all that exciting though.

NNNOOOOO. I like Tako, and being one of the first F1 rejects to hang around in Indycar was one of the attractions to me for the series then.
Oddly enough Chilton did not have the same effect on me!
At least we have Marcus and RoGro settling into the fold now.
All we need now is for Kimi to get bored in F1 retirement and give it a go.....
