Merc struggled here at least once due to hot weather. It's more like Grimsby this weekend
Yea, Mercedes is looking a little out of reach, although Max did put in an excellent lap and Hamilton kept kind of muffing his.

Qualifying was interesting:

1. Verstappen: That was a great lap.
2. Hamilton: Never really got it right. I do note that he seems to brake deeper than Verstappen. Is that messing with his corner speeds and exit?

My feel is that the Mercs are probably around a tenth of a second slower on this track than the Red Bull’s. This could be the two races where Red Bull can put their stamp on the season.

Norris/Gasly: These guys just keep performing. Good work.

14. Vettel: Back to his usual form.

Ricciardo: Don’t why he is still struggling eight races into the season. He never has before. Is there something going on we don’t know about?

Ocon: Continue to be mystified by his inconsistent performances from race to race. When he was teamed with Perez he was always fast. Since he has come back…. His performances have been mostly disappointing. Why?

Yuki: guy continues to entertain.

Apologies if a lot of my posts are missing the letter 'p'.... reason being I had a coffee spit moment on my laptop this morning and now the 'p' doesnt work. (Im on my PC in my office atm) I have been getting by with a 'p' copied ready and if I remember I paste a 'p' in where it should be, but in the heat of qualy it didnt always happen. So we might have a few 'oles' instead of pole and similar. I have not suddenly turned illiterate, I just need to pull the laptop apart and clean up inside with a cotton but and some alcohol and hope that is the reason for my missing p's.. (It is also why Perez has become Sergio this weekend so no P is involved :haha: )

Not sure max was perfect. Yellow 3rd sector suggested he could have trimmed a couple of tenths off

I'm surprised dangerous driving in the pitlane carries only a 3 places penalty.

According to Hamilton, they are .25 seconds a lap slower.

http://www.gptoday.com/full_story/view/ ... _Red_Bull/

So 71 laps times 0.25 = 17.75 seconds behind at the end of the race.

It's the first time I've seen Hamilton do quite badly in a long time. The pressure must finally be getting to him.

I don't think Max will have much difficulty winning today.

Only if it ends with Lewis retiring, Max going on to take the win.

Max would be 40 points clear by now if Lewis wasn't so lucky.

I wouldn't mind them both just crashing and Piquet/Salazaring away.

I would be entertained.
