I was aware he had been diagnosed with liver cancer a few years ago. He is currently now in intensive care with digestive bleeding, having suffered a digestive hemorrhage last week. Sadly his conditioning is not improving, suffering a worsening of "biochemical parameters" (his doctors words). He is gravely ill. He is 79.

Reutemann in stable condition after latest medical procedure

Carlos Reutemann remains in intensive care following several episodes of internal bleeding but is reported to be stable after a medical procedure on Tuesday

Reutemann, who has been treated at the intensive care section of Rosario's Sanatorio Parque ever since, was reported as stable on Monday but then suffered another haemorrhage the following day, after which it was decided to perform an enteroscopy.

In its latest medical bulletin on Wednesday the Sanatorio Rosario hospital has communicated Reutemann's condition has improved,
"Hospitalised in ICU, lucid, in communication with the environment, with no other organ failure," the statement read. "No signs of digestive bleeding since the endoscopic haemostasis procedure performed yesterday."

Reutemann moved out of intensive care as condition improves

There was more positive news on Sunday when it was noted that the Argentinean senator's condition has improved, and he has been moved out of ICU.
“This morning the national senator and former governor Carlos Reutemann, who has been hospitalized in Rosario since Saturday, May 8, after being in intensive care for several days, he was transferred to the general ward,” Argentine newspaper La Capital reported on its website.
Reutemann’s daughter Mariana also posted a photo of her father sitting on a hospital bed and reading a newspaper.

He is certainly back in intensive care , having been discharged from hospital two weeks ago to continue his recovery at home.
Less than two weeks after being discharged from hospital, Carlos Reutemann is back in intensive care. It seems he reported back to hospital earlier in the week feeling unwell. He was reported to be suffering from dehydration and a 'feverish condition'. He is under observation in intensive care undergoing further tests with the prognosis 'reserved'. (Which means they have yet to make their mind up AFAIK). Hopefully the 'Reserved' prognosis becomes something more positive after the tests have been concluded.
The health of the senator and former Formula 1 driver Carlos Alberto Reutemann suffered again:
Due to a feverish condition that affected his general condition, he had to be admitted to intensive care in a sanatorium in the city of Santa Fe, which he had admitted last Monday for presenting symptoms of dehydration.

“ Yesterday afternoon, Senator Carlos Reutemann presented a feverish situation with repercussions on his general condition. Faced with this new complication, it was decided to transfer him to the Intensive Care Unit of this institution. His prognosis is reserved and diagnostic studies continue to be carried out ”, it was stated in the official medical report, signed by Sebastián del Pazo, coordinator of the Sanatorio Santa Fe Clinical Department.
