IIRC, he's the short track type that the IRL was meant to bring over into the American openwheel fold, but he got snatched away by larger evil powers.

Basically he got taken by Brawn F1 and scraped over the line to the 2009 F1 title, despite rubbish car development.

True story.

Oh well that explains why Jenson Button is playing with NASCAR things this year.... trying to regain his seemingly lost WDC from 2009.

Thinks.... is it to do with the fact that the NASCAR headmaster has an F1 GP name.... Bill (or is it Jim?) "the Frog" France.

Hey, they have qualifying sprints, too! And what can I say, it was fabulous. I don't know what you guys like about qualifying, but for me those three sprint laps were FAR more exciting than the whole tedious single lap qualifying procedure.

Yeah, but wait for the race proper. I guess the Sand Causeway will go away within a few laps of marbleous pounding, and then they will all be struggling for grip!

My fear is that Balls of Chaos's *cough* illegal *cough* off-season shaker rig work will help them ride the bumps better when the degradation sets in.

They need a cost cap.... there were some very highly developed and expensive looking marbles there with special surfaces.

First round of the Marble Rally Season 6, and it was a debut win (!!) for Amethyst, from Ghost Plasma and Wisp of Darkness, although I have to say I would expect the latter to be disqualified after his dirty move on then-leader Crazy Cat's Eye, who had to retire as a consequence. I just don't care for this dirty way of dr..., uh, rolling.

Mods, can we have a seperate sub-forum for Marble Rally? Otherwise, I think the Rally posts will get lost in the deluge of Marbula One threads that are going to appear soon.
