It's because he's got a longer lap length than the other drivers. The MazeSpin laps include at least 1 loop.

Im not sure if it has been reported here but Mazepin said recently words to the effect when asked about his future that he will "be around the F1 paddock for a few years yet", which implies to me Daddy is going to buy Haas as has been suggested. Surely the only way he could be guaranteed continuance.

The timing of the SC would have helped him a bit there. Saved him half a lap.

Had to have a snigger at this, accepting that at Monaco it is difficult when you have a hundred buttons and dials to play with at your engineers behest.
