Update on Pourchaire and Fittipaldi
Pourchaire "fine", Fittipaldi suffers fractured heel after Jeddah F2 startline crash
Theo Pourchaire has confirmed that he is "fine" while Enzo Fittipaldi has sustained a fractured heel following the frightening Formula 2 start line crash in the feature race at Jeddah in which Pourchaire stalled on the grid and was then collected by an unsighted Fittipaldi.
Both drivers were conscious and extricated by medical crews before being transferred by ambulance and helicopter to King Fahad Armed Forces Hospital.
Pourchaire has since taken to social media to confirm that he escaped the incident unscathed.
"Hey everyone, Just wanted to tell you that I'm globally fine!," read a post on Pourchaire's social media channels.
"For the moment I don't know if it's already the end of the season for me. But the most important is not that, that was a really big one and Enzo is injured.
"I wish him the best recovery possible!"
An official update regarding Fittipaldi's condition is yet to be issued, although Enzo's brother Pietro Fittipaldi confirmed that Enzo is awake having escaped with only a fractured right heel.
"Hey everyone thanks for all the messages. Enzo is awake/alert and resting at the hospital," read a post of Pietro Fittipaldi's social media channels.
"He has a fracture in his right heel but thankfully things are much better than what we all expected.
Good welcome news.... Seeing the incident and then the lack of much news, and what we did hear being inconsistent at best was quite a worry. It could and to be honest I expected a far worse outcome, especailly the Fittialdi side of it.
