I have closed Chrome installed Firebox and I have managed to navigate around the forum at seemingly normal (ie not slow) speed, and not yet had one unresponsive page.
Maybe I will run Firefox for here on a permanent basis from now.

If you have any problems with Chrome, I recommend using the built-in cleanup functions. Like click on History > History then Clear Browsing Data. Also make sure you have the latest Chrome installed. (Help > About Google Chrome). I'm running version 108.0.xxx

I must admit I have never cleared the browsing history. Re the updates I have auto update clicked.... all I have to do is restart the browser when it tells me. I know I did it a few days ago and in my mind linked the issues with that update timing wise. It is version 108. etc
Anyway im running Firefox for TFL at the moment and all seems good. No unresponsive pages yet.
Thanks all for the tips.

Still down for me.
Just downgraded the PHP version by one more step. Now working.

Lately I get this error a lot in Chrome. It displays only briefly before the page loads. Does anyone else see it?
I get it a few times a day..... I dont even need to click refresh, just the error comes up for a few seconds in a sort of temporaray hold pattern.... within a couple of seconds the right page loads without any input from me. Yes im using Chrome. I have not tried other browsers, I guess because it doesnt present as a problem or detract from my forum use.
Unless it comes up after writing a long or detailed post that required research and stuff.... and it comes up when I click submit without having saved the post before clicking submit. But the stress is temporary and I have yet to lose anything as a result of the error message. Im now getting into the habit of saving things before I hit submit, just in case it doesnt go through.

After a lot of to-ing and fro-ing the hosts have FINALLY found the problem. Their firewall was detecting regular traffic as potentially malicious so it was temporarily blocking users from accessing pages. This particular firewall rule has been disabled so the issue should be fixed.
