Bottom post of the previous page:

I understood the decision was made when /straight after Seb took Charles out at the 2019 Brazilian GP. Sainz also confirmed that Ferrari approached him before Christmas 2019 about replacing Sebastian for 2021. Seb also confirmed no offer was ever made by Ferrari to him at that time, simply he would not be retained.

Who at Ferrari made the decision I dont know. Whether it was Binotto or there were other senior Ferrari influences

@Star will love this....

Seb has been out to play in an F1 car again..... a Red Bull, and at the Nurburgring. The big Daddy Nordschleife to. :twothumbs:
There were a few other ex drivers having a play with various cars (not all in F1 cars. Jos Verstappen, Gerhard Berger DC, Ralf Schu, Yuki T and even Mattias (son of Niki) Lauda.

Oh and it seems they ran ithe car on CO2 neutral fuel in line with Seb's eco-platform.

Vettel drives Red Bull F1 car at Nurburgring Norschleife
Sebastian Vettel delighted over 60,000 motorsports fans at the Nordschleife, driving an F1 car at the Red Bull Formula Nurburgring.

Vettel drove his championship-winning Red Bull RB7 said: “I feel like I’m in a time capsule – a lot of memories have come up once I got into the car. It’s going to be a lot of fun going on the big track and doing it in a way that I am happy with. Somehow everything fits together here today – including the fact that we are now running the car with CO2-neutral fuel.

“Motorsport is my great passion and I want to keep the sport alive. Fuels can be produced synthetically and serve as a substitute fuel. It is important that we all become aware that we must do something. And the great thing is – you don’t feel any difference in the car, it’s just as much fun driving it on synthetic fuel.”

Also at the event was current Scuderia AlphaTauri driver Yuki Tsunoda, who drove a Honda NSX GT3 Evo, former F1 drivers David Coulthard, Gerhard Berger, Ralf Schumacher, and Jos Verstappen in the Ford SuperVan 4.2.

Mathias Lauda, son of triple-world champion Niki, piloted the Ferrari 312 B3 his father raced during the 1974 season.

Thank you @erwin greven :mates:

I really did enjoy watching that a lot. I didn't have the sound on (I can't use headphones and my daughter was working at the time). I am guessing the driver in the car behind was David Coulthard, it certainly looked like his helmet if memory serves me correctly.

Vettel refuses to rule out prospect of F1 comeback
https://racingnews365.com/vettel-refuse ... 1-comeback

Whether he means it, or not, Sebastian made my day. I am in awe.
"I can't say no, because that you don't know," he explained to Sky Sports F1...
Unfortunately it sounds in-line with his life long honesty, leaving his options open, despite actively not seeking imminent return.

- Only on his terms.
- He is fit (but neck)

Seb for Audi (2 seasons), please.

Awesome to see these cars out on the circuit! Thanks for sharing!

However, whomever edited this footage together clearly has no understanding of the track layout. They were tossed into a random order. Obviously, it has something to so with the safety cars and when Seb and David were allowed to attack at full throttle, but they could have at least put them in a decent order that made sense. Perhaps it feels dramatic to someone that is not very familiar with the actual Nordschlief?

Do they have the safety cars pacing the F1 cars like that because they do not want to deploy full track marshals for this event? Anyone have an answer on why they don't let them go at full pace for the whole lap?

I think Seb and David know the track at a moderate level. The sad thing is, that they will never run at a decent pace at the Nordschleife. Except for "that guy".

They don't go full pace at all, they're just dawdling around on very used tyres. It's a show thing, nowhere near competitive driving. And yes, the editing is just stupid. As are the doughnuts at the end.

VETTEL REUNITED WITH KINKY KYLIE AT NORDSCHLEIFE
Kinky Kylie ignited smoldering itch Seb had? His life evolved around those cars, and it's hard to say - I don't care.
