Yea, I actually thought at first it was one of those goofy anti-climatic promotions. Like 'Jimmie's coming to Indycar...as a driver coach' or something like that.

Just curious how one can say "I'm going to IndyCar in '21 & '22, now I'm committed to finding sponsors."

That ain't how it works, in the real world anyway......

Yep.... its like buying a house; get your finances in order to know what money you can borrow / spend, then go house hunting.
I would have thought he would have cleared with his sponsors if /what their commitment is or gone to the sponsor with a proposal based on what the team needs to run the car at X rounds. Until he has the money from his backers committed it aint going to happen.

Finally..

Wonder what Trump will think about this , Sponsor aside, a pretty nice looking car.

You'd be correct, Hertz was meant to sponsor those races but they went bankrupt earlier this year.

It's also a throwback to the late Ricky Hendrick and Brain Vickers, so they at least they made the best of a bad situation.

Sam Mayer wins the ARCA East series championship, there were only 6 races, and he won 5 of them, finishing second in the other, almost a perfect season.

Ran for 45 laps a 3300lb car a road course without power steering. Respect for that.
