Mick's performances in F2 have been exactly the same as his performances in all other races / seasons he's competed in, bar that suspicious second half of the 2018 F3 season.

Ticktum is actually reasonably talented. He'd done well in all other formulas including his one-off Super Formula and F2 races in 2018. 2019 hasn't gone well, plus he appears to have a chip on his shoulder.

Regarding the 2018 f3 topic you are speaking I talked with an engeeneer of a lower formula (f2 and f3) and he said he was surprised as well by mick’s second half but he said he wasn t aware of a super engine nor he thought mick was cheating

F2 sprint race was absolutely brilliant! I wonder why in f1 they don’t make somithing to level the performance instead of helping the usual suspects.

Mick made a fantastc comeback from 18th to 4th, almost clinching his first podiun in f2

I think Mick is fine; he is inexperienced (Baku, Monaco) and unlucky (France and here). He definitely won't win the F2 championship this season but he should be a solid contender next year. If not then he can't get into F1.

The Halo afforded the other driver some protection while his car was sliding down the road upside down, but I doubt anything would have protected the other guy short of not being there.

Hypothetically, it wouldn't have been good if the other guy had been upside down, car busted up, then gets hit by another car from behind, and catching fire. Good luck getting out of the car then.

I'm not a fan of the halo and was quite outspoken in my comments after it supposedly saved Charles Leclerc last year, however I believe that it did everything it needed to this weekend.

Let's not focus on Hubert - that was an unsurvivable impact and you simply cannot create an open cockpit, open wheel racer that is able to take three significant impacts - the barrier, Correa and then the barrier again, plus the G-forces of the head and neck being flung around. Not on Halo to save him.

Look at Correa - protected him from impact of substantial debris, of which Hubert's car split into three pieces and therefore there was a lot of significant debris. Protected his head as it was upside down. Halo worked.

Then, we've had another incident this morning. Remember Burti 2001? It's happened again but further into the tyres.

Laaksonen's car was barely visible under the tyres, and the halo has protected his head.

You only have to look at Burti's helmet to see what sort of damage this impact does.

@DoubleFart How was the driver? This is just another shocking incident, makes me think of Imola 1994 where things there happened in threes. And Spa 1960 was the same.

Or more recently, Kovalainen.
