from Brussels, we have a direct flight to Atlanta. I was thinking of using it in October '19. From what I see on googlemaps, Talladega is less than a 2 hr drive away. My only concern is safety, or shouldn't it be?

Learn the American traffic rules (and rules of engagement when halted by police) and you are fine.

If you go to Dega just stay out of the infield and you'll be fine, it gets a bit wild down there after dark.

Safety in what way?

I’ve been to Atlanta a few times, it’s a fun place. Would love to do Talladega but Daytona needs to be ticked off first. As an FYI, Pocono is around a 90 minute drive from Newark Airport. :whistling:

1) Shut up, listen to the officer and follow their instructions
2) Don’t be black

Yup, that about summarizes it.

and keeping your hands on the wheel, or does that not apply any more? it certainly didn't help Ken Heron (an internet drone movie maker) with some state troopers a while back.

Jimmie Johnson and Fernando Alonso will swap cars in Bahrain (one day after the Spaniards final Grand Prix).
This should be quite something. If I'm not mistaken, I believe Sakhir also has something resembling an oval, so they may use that for the NASCAR part.
