NASCAR 2018 - News & Discussion
I just thought I'd post the 2018 calendar here, after reading that the Daytona 500 will be approx. one week earlier than usual, on February 18th (President's Day). Would be great if it could be a dusk/night event like we had a couple of years ago.

It'll be a day race, unless someone hits a jet dryer. That dusk/night 500 was the lowest viewership ever for the 500, so as much as we might like those transitional events, NASCAR said ages ago it won't be repeated unless there's a weather delay.
I am very sorry if you find my posts long and boring, I like to type and often go off on a tangent.

Wasn't that particular race on a Monday evening though? If I remember correctly, the race was originally rained off and NASCAR postponed until Monday evening.

Yes. And indeed that was the race when JPM crashed into a jet dryer when the gear box failed of his car.

Nice to see Harvick win again, especially after the way Nascar came down on them for the window

The braces holding up the rear window plastic/fibergrass failed or was designed to but obviously not to the extent that it did and everyone noticed. I heard it's a common trick used in lower level stock car series in the USA to deflect more air toward the spoiler than a rigid rear window might.

Win for Kyle Busch and Harvick ended second despite all the problems he had in Texas, Jimmie Johnson and Truex Jr didn't end, they crashed.

Win for Logano in Talladega and Jimmie Johnson caused the big one.
