Dream on. You're never going to get rid of that one, he's just immune to decency and decorum.
Does that go in the 'didn't age well category'? :haha:

Although he is trying to cling on until autumn. Time to send the swat team in
What worries me now is who is going to replace him. That has me really concerned. If we get Jeremy Hunt I'll be looking for sanctuary in another country I think!!

Boris will only stay until they get someone to replace him, when Theresa may quit I think it took about 3-4 weeks, so I doubt he'll be there all that long.
Boris is clinging on as long as possible! Like a sticky turd :).
There's even doubts he's actually resigned lol. Michael could win this one yet

Maybe we should have a Boris / Replacement / UK politics thread like we do for the US and also the Ukraine bizzo in the Off Topic section of the forum, rather than drag this Lewis thread further off topic. Hopefully Lewis is not running for the role of Boris's replacement.

 My saying. He's only gone when he's really gone - and don't forget to put a stake through his heart!

The bitchfights never end between Lewis and Max.... any chance to 'have a go'....Handbags at dawn!

Most have moved on from Silverstone last year, when Hamilton and Verstappen collided at Copse in the race . Lewis as we know was judged “predominantly to blame” for the collision by the stewards who noted he had “room available to the inside” (ie he missed the apex) when contact was made between him and Max on his outside.

During last Sunday’s race Lewis successfully went through Copse side-by-side with Leclerc. “He’s a very sensible driver, clearly a lot different to what I experienced last year,” Hamilton said of Leclercr in an interview with Sky.

Asked for his response to this by a Dutch journalist Erik van Haren, Verstappen replied: “I think it’s great that, when you’re 37 years old, at some point you understand how to get the apex. So he will learn.”

:haha: :haha: :mates: :aggro:

He's such an asshole. Instead of counting himself lucky to get away with that massive foul. :aggro:

Honestly, I'd be okay with him staying. He's flawed, of course he is, but who isn't? There's been a campaign to get rid of him and they finally managed it. At some point the Tory party are going to wake up and realise Boris was probably the only one who could win them the next election. Better the devil you know I reckon.

Catching up with this thread after some stuff, I'm beginning to confuse Boris Johnson with Lewis Hamilton.

Just to get back on topic... I missed the Austrian GP because I was in a foreign state where my phone or internet did not work - San Marino, incidentally, which is in the middle of Italy, and also claims the Imola circuit... what are the odds? Later (while cheering for Leclerc cos he's cute and my late Mom was a Ferrarista) I read this piece:

https://www.bbc.com/sport/formula1/62110154

So Lewis was booed (and/or cheered when he stopped). Lucky for him that he was not actually closer to the stands. He might have heard someone like my ex-friends of the Nineties, who wished for Senna's death. They got their wish but lost a friend.

Lewis, honey, I love you, really, but... how about growing up? And I respect all those who sided with him, but do they really believe that it's possible to police the most toxic part of the fans? Good luck.

I've been part of "Fandoms" (if F1 followers can be called so) for 30 years, and I've seen splits, legal causes, enmity between former best friends.... No thanks. Lewis dear, I could be your mom (very young) but please, I'm over it. I'm in it just for the fun. If you keep whining, you're no fun.

I have a question for the people who feel Piquet is being treated unfairly. What is "cancelling"? Is it when the press stops reporting on what a celebrity is saying? Or is it when fans just stop following that person on line? Is it permanent or temporary? Would someone like Harvey Weinstein be "cancelled"? Or who would be a good example of someone who was "cancelled"? Is Piquet actually "cancelled" in this circumstance?
To me what happened to Piquet were "concequences" of his own actions (barred from the F1 paddock for now? What else was done?). We will (I'm sure) hear from Piquet again in the future. From my perspective he was not cancelled but is instead suffering from concequences he created.
