I'm somewhat intrigued by that prospect, actually. Either go down by car, or the train to Skövde and rent a car from there.

Barring out-of-this-world ticket prices, it would make a refreshing change from watching no fucking racing at all because there is none to be found here.

This line is still intriguing.

"Anderstorp and Monza have been added to next year’s expanded DTM schedule, while a “very exciting” TBA date is still listed for May."

https://sportscar365.com/other-series/d ... -schedule/

In May also the Nürburgring 24h is being held. Including a round of the WTCR.

I think they want to let the DTM race around the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Even when there is already a round on the GP-Strecke.

Nestor Girolami dominated in TCR Australia this weekend winning all three races. Will Brown provisionally won the championship with one round to go.

Makes me wonder if our drivers here are that good given the ease the foreign stars win when they come to TCR Aus. Girolami at a canter this weekend, and Vernay a few weeks ago when he got pole lead practice and cruised to a race win before his 'mystery illness' had him not race on the Sunday. (Rumoured to have failed a morning breathalyser test and not allowed to race)

Probably more noticeable in TCR where the foreign imports are fully familiar with the cars, whereas when foreigners do V8SC it is the local boys with car knowledge advantage.

I think it's down to people having a lack of experience in TCR-esque cars and also that there aren't very many current top drivers who've run full time in TCR Australia this year in decent cars.

TCR news:
Mazda Motorsports unveils the Mazda3 TCR

Mazda is the latest brand to build and develop a racing car for TCR competition.

Today at Mazda Design Americas in Irvine, California, Mazda Motorsports unveiled the all-new Mazda3 TCR race car.
The Mazda3 TCR will hit the racetrack as part of the 2020 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge and will be homologated to compete in any of the TCR-sanctioned championships around the globe.
Developed and supported by Long Road Racing, the manufacturer of the Global Mazda MX-5 Cup car, the Mazda3 TCR has been envisioned by Mazda Design America’s designers who spent countless hours ensuring the aerodynamics of the car are compliant with all TCR regulations.

“TCR represents a great opportunity for us to showcase the new Mazda3 and provide our customers another avenue to race Mazda vehicles,” said Masahiro Moro, Chairman and CEO, Mazda North American Operations. “Some of our most important successes in IMSA and TC America have been thanks to dedicated customers who chose to race with Mazda, and we hope the next generation of Mazda racers see the same potential in the Mazda3 TCR."

"The Mazda3 features the outstanding design and engineering that Mazda is known for, and because of that, it is a fantastic foundation for our new Mazda3 TCR,” said John Doonan, Director, Mazda Motorsports. “We have looked forward to returning to the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge for several seasons, and everyone at Mazda is very excited that we will do just that in 2020. We are eagerly anticipating success for the Mazda3 TCR in IMSA, TC America and in TCR championships around the world.”

If you didn't watch the DTM vs. Super GT "Dream Races" from Fuji Speedway, you missed out! A fantastic all-star event, and some epic racing on top of that. You can watch them for free on motorsport.tv.

More races could be in the making: https://sportscar365.com/other-series/s ... nt-events/

I'm really psyched to go to DTM at Anderstorp next June. @John ?
