WTCR is now dead at the end of this year. It's set to be replaced by a "World Tour" next year which will comprised of various races from national/regional TCR series followed by a single event where the top 60 TCR drivers around the world will be invited. Could be a cool event depending on how many of those 60 drivers actually turn up.theracer120 wrote: ↑1 year ago I don't think anyone's mentioned here that WTCR is going through a rough time at the moment.

Sounds a bit complicated how they do all the Top 60 drivers given the variety of driver standards in various series, but I like the idea of a Top 60 "Free for All". As long as it is at a decent / iconic / challenging track.
Lets face it WTCR needs something.... I used to religiously watch and enjoy a few years ago but off late its been a bit of a low grid numbers non event

As an aside I see Marcello Lotti, the TCR World Boss ..... (he is the founder and President of the WSC Group which owns the TCR ruleset) is making the trip to Bathurst next month to see this years Aus TCR finale at the Bathurst International. He makes a special point of being
"thrilled to attend the final battle for the title, especially because it is hosted at such a legendary venue as Mount Panorama, Bathurst".
I wonder / hope that re the Top 60 thing mentioned by @theracer120 above, maybe he is looking at Mt Panorama as a potential venue for that Top 60 event.
