Gordon Murray's 'triangular' Grand Prix cars were terrific both aesthetically and functionally. Add the Martini and Parmalat logos/stripes/colours and I reckon we had some of the most charismatic racing cars of all time.

I'd post a Superleague Formula livery but I can't decide which one I like the most at the moment.

It was the John Goldie / Hexagon of Highgate BT42 of 1974 that was one of my favourite cars back in the day. John Watson used to drive it. I remember it at the Brands GP in 1974. It wasnt the prettiest version by any means but I had followed the team the year before in F5000 with a Trojan (which had yellow contrasts not orange.). The connection and draw to me was a good friend of mine worked for Trojan before he went on to work for McLaren for many years,

Peter Doulman's Gatorade Commodore, Ran through 1999-2000.

Peter Doulman was one of the well known privateers of the 90's and early noughties.... would run a few usually NSW Touring Car rounds but would show up at Bathurst every year with his mate John Cotter. He ran. a BMW before the Commodores but would sometimes lease a Commodore for Bathurst after the two litre class days finished. I think he was a Bathurst class winner in a BMW back in the day .

In fact I remember his BMW used to be one of the first pink liveried cars for a while when it ran with Impala Kitchens backing.

Actually thinking about it I remembered a pink car we had here from the mid 1980's. Tim Slako bought the ex Rouse 1984 BSCC Rover Vitesse and promptly painted it pink.

I am one of probably only a few who thinks the Gold Leaf Lotus colours were better than the JPS version. Dont get me wrong the JPS is up there as well but the Gold Leaf Team Lotus liveries were just great to me at the time.








Not just in F1 either, the Lotus 47 and 62 looked pretty special. (The Lotus 62 was a prototype of which only two were made... basically a Lotus 47 on steroids, from 1969)
