The BRDC, owners of Silverstone, have revealed the new Stowe Complex, which is due to be completed by next March. The area boasts - as well as a 1.15-mile circuit - test facilities, new pit garages and hospitality areas.
The Stowe Complex is the first part of a £7m overhaul which is currently in progress; the changes will also include modifications to the Grand Prix circuit ahead of the MotoGP race in mid-June.
The Stowe Complex includes a three-lane irrigated wet handling pad to simulate varying levels of grip, from standard wet tarmac to sheet ice.
The new hospitality units, designed to serve both the Stowe Complex and South Circuit, include feature roof terraces for viewing purposes plus meeting rooms and fully-functional kitchens. The interiors of both buildings can be modified in order to suit the party using the facilities at any given time.
Including the latest additions, Silverstone now has five different track configurations.

That is interesting. The current / old Stowe circuit just feels so half-arsed it is a wonder it is used at all. Even when Jim Russell relocated to Silverstone from Donington they centred the school at Stowe rather than use the National circuit. Seeing this kind of development maybe shows that Silverstone and the BRDC are finally serious about developing the circuit into the facility it really should be?
