I thought Stanton still ran his stunt business; I don't he'd make enough to simply race. (Although a few of his past wrecks might have been a part of his act... )
Talking of Stuntmen, going back a while we had Val Musetti, who ran in UK open wheelers with some success (Aurora F1 and G8 plus other things in 70's/80's). I believe im right in saying that he was the guy who did the major stunts in the original (the real!) Italian Job. Im sure Mr Encyclopedia (Seppi ) will know.
Referring to names in my last 'Funny Stories' addition, we can add Noel Edmunds UK DJ and media personality from bygone years (dont know if he is still around the media) ran in a Capri 3Litre in Saloon Cars in the Radio 1 and Britax Champs and Dave Lee Travis aka 'DLT' (Radio and TV presenter) used to get into and do a bit of Drag stuff. (Edit: Drag Racing not frocks!)

He was the Pink Floyd drummer, cars enthousiast and regular customer in historics, racing GT's and Prototypes.
In Belgium we have the Wouters brothers (Kris and Koen) who are singers in a renowned Belgian band called Clouseau (they sing Dutch popsongs and yearly sell hundred of thousands of records, regularly earning them a nr1 hit or a gold record)
They race "Belcar" (the Belgian GT championship)
