Yeah the first one to do so. I guess plenty of tyres in the shed and for a bit of an edge in the final laps.

Last lap Heimi is safe from Mostert. Cant work out who is up for the JR Round winner trophy prolly ADP.

Late 5 sec penalty for Brodie for that little skirmish.

Brown wins from Feeney and ADP who likley gets the JR trophy with two 3rd place podiums

So Brown opens a bigger gap in the title chase. Now firmly the team leader lol.

Hehhehe Feeney congratulated Brown but it didnt look too genuine or sincere. No hugs just a pat on the back and a back turn.

Dont know if you watched any of the post race debrief but they spoke to Wood about the strategy, pitting from 3rd for a 3rd stop and then only getting back to 10th.

Ryan actually said a lot of the issues were him being a rookie, still learning the ins and outs of the cars, especially in the tyre management side. Admitted he is taking too much out of the tyres too early chasing performance, and needs to work on his long game with tyres. The feeling was that although 3rd when he made that final stop, if he had not stopped they had felt that 10th was where they would have dropped to and been susceptible to any robust defending taking even more out of the tyres, maybe losing more places..... so they rolled the dice on strategy as they had the tyres, and made the 3rd stop hoping to have made more places at the end. It. was easier to attack others on better rubber rather than defend on worse tyres.

As it happened they still ended 10th so nothing gained nothing lost on expectation..

So, Tony Quinn is pretty happy.... Tony made a bit of history today......

He owns the Taupo Circuit and also is the majority owner of Triple 8 Racing.

It is the first time ever an (ATCC) team owner has taken his team to a Championship Race at track owned by the team owner and that team has finished 1-2. Follow that! :drunk: :flag: :flag:

Certainly a wealthy man, but nice to see and hear of his passion for motorsport in general and of his ability, intent to invest and generosity in building and supporting motorsport in Australia and NZ (Not bad for a bloke once in 'struggle street' and who brought his family up initilly living in a caravan! )

57000 people attended which when you consider the weather yesterday is a big number for a town in the middle of nowhere in a country with many times more sheep than people. ( In total, NZ has the same population as Melbourne).

The commitment of the fans and the hospitality of the locals was pretty good to see too and needsto be appreciated..

I get it when an Australian driver wins an international event, like when Miller first did it at the Dutch TT, but in an domestic event, that is just taking the piss.

They had a minor pro golf tournament in Adelaide over the weekend. An Aussie player won it it and he did a celebration shoey with his golf shoe. Then Greg (the"Shark") Norman who was the patron of the event decided to do one. Its getting to the any excuse now with it having become some sort of ritual.

EREBUS POTENTIAL SALE RUMOURED

Rumours are starting to float around that Betty Klimenko is getting over Supercars and the hot goss is of a sale MAY be in the wings.

It may also be one of those things like Newey is out of Red Bull..... one source gets quoted by hundreds and all of a sudden its widespread and a done deal.

Erebus have denied any sale is imminent but not commented on whether there is any potential wish or intent to sell in the short term.

But, it would be understandable given all the dramas within the team of late, many of which revolve around the management, the walking way of sponsors and the no doubt having to dip into her own pocket to keep things happening. I guess it is also on the reverse a good time given they are still carrying the number 1 and are the reigning team champions. Betty herself I know was having health issues although she seems to at least be at races now.

Of course there are oddities about the way the team is set up.... Barry Ryan owns a share of the team, although I believe that might be in the form of owning one of the TRCs needed to run a car. It is what governs the payout by Supercars for participation, tv money prize money etc. They used to be call Racing Entitlement Contracts but there is a new name and set up now. Im sure there are all sorts of ways round it, and I know some teams lease TRCs off of other teams or past owners, so the fact that Betty to all purposes owns the team and Barry owns at least part of the entry entitlement of one car is not an unsurmountable problem

I have always like Betty.... Barry not so much but she as a privateer would be missed if this rumour becomes fact and a sale comes up.

If it does become available, and it is said negotiations might b underway with some party, but no doubt the word Adderton will again be in the press as a player. Betty did once say recently that she would close the place down rather than sell to him. Of course if no one wants to buy the team other than Adderton......

Anyway.this is the story as reported on Speedcafe....

Rumours emerge of potential Erebus sale
Rumours that Erebus Motorsport is on the market are gaining momentum among Supercars paddock insiders.

Sources have indicated that majority owner Betty Klimenko is open to selling the team, something that could happen before the end of the current season.

Some have even suggested that negotiations are underway and a deal could be imminent, however that is yet to be consistently verified by Speedcafe.

Erebus team management denied that a sale is imminent when asked by Speedcafe, while opting not to comment on anything else related to a long or short term sale.

A willingness from Klimenko to sell the team is thought to be a byproduct of an eventful past 18 months for the squad.

One one hand, a significant box was ticked when Erebus burst out of the Gen3 blocks and secured both the drivers' and teams' championships in 2023, the two triumphs now sitting alongside the famous 2017 Bathurst 1000 win.

However the success was followed by a difficult start to this year when lead driver, and reigning champion, Brodie Kostecki effectively walked away from the team ahead of the new season.

A number of major backers left the team as well, including co-naming rights sponsors Coca-Cola and Shaw and Partners, while managing director Shannen Kiely was another high profile departure.

Kostecki has since returned to the team, but, according to sources, the turbulence is another contributing factor to Klimenko potentially wanting out.

Klimenko has owned the team since she bought out the Stone Brothers at the end of 2012.
