The story goes that Clive Chapman found the drawings when going through his dad's possessions. He had never seen/heard of this design so decided to make it. Clearly it has design cues from the first Lotus 72. In any case, this is not a one-off museum piece. They are producing 10 of them in total for people to buy and use as a track day car and (unfortunately) comes equipped with modern features. It produces a total of 800kg of downforce at 150mph (about the same as a Wolf GB08 or Dodge Viper ACR).

Would you buy one?

I think they'll probably all be sold out before my lottery ticket result comes out, but if not, sure!
