Bottom post of the previous page:

So, Feeney becomes the 83rd Supercars race winner and at 20 years and one month is the second youngest race winner on record. (Scotty Mac is the youngest ....he was aged just 19 when he won at Pukekohe in 2013

That was a decent race as well. So good to have this event back.

SVG's championship celebrating burnout was quite special, doing donuts around the championship trophy on a taable in the middle of the track before nosing the car into the barriers and jumping onto the roof whilst the car was still in gear burning rubber nosed into the barrier.

Note he only has one shoe on.... the other was jamming the throttler .

A bit of his post race performance here:

Actually this is the full thing I think

Hakkinnen had his big one there in 1995.

Hakkinnen had his big one there in 1995.
Hakkinen's crash was at Brewery Bend aka Brewery Corner, the fast corner at the end of Jones Straight, approaching the Brabham Straight.... the part of the circuit no longer used by the Supercars.

I posted this track map image, showing the F1 layout..... and in red the current supercars layout. earlier in the thread, but here again

Image

Also a video of the Hakkinen crash.

MTV, a Finnish broadcaster, said the then 27-year-old Finn suffered a tire problem just before the fast Brewery Bend corner, hitting the wall sideways at 200kph (124mph).

Yeah, that is the corner I had in mind. I'm still confusing the corner with the crash Hakkinen had in 1994 race after his brakes failed :dunno:

The current T8 was never used in F1, Brewery is the analogous corner for the F1 layout, that's why I brought it up.

I only said I meant the corner on the entrance to Brabham straight not having crashes in F1, I don't remember the exact number used back then. Sorry to even bring up the topic, I'll see myself out of the room.

Stay, its a valid question. In the end it comes down to how long the preceding straight is. For Supercars, East Terrace to Brabham is the longest straight of the layout, the F1 layout's straight is about the same length as Wakefield or East Terrace. So in a V8 you arrive at the corner at topspeed, while in an F1 you have potentially some reserves left.

I meant the corner Hill goes through here at 44 second mark:
