Bottas car just made a horrible noise on the inboard and. he has pulled up off track.Full story here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/61523371Fernando Alonso has accused Formula 1's governing body of "incompetence" and lacking knowledge of racing.
He was 2nd last time I looked but now he has dropped to 8th! Times are still about 2 seconds lower than what I expect them to be tomorrow afternoon.
They're around where I expected them to be for the time I put in for pole. Though of course anything could happen bewteen now and then
I think Seb leading the field was more he was the first to run the softs. As soon as others bolted on softs he plummeted down the order. Still 8th but a second off the pace
Good step forward for them though, if this is truly their order in the rankings.
That's still half a second off their best pace during pre-season testing at the same track. Not looking into these times much at all at the moment. (That's my way of saying I hope they are not really this quick lol)
“I’m positive, yeah. Super happy with the progress, so a big, big, big, big thank you to everyone back at the factory for not giving up and for continuing to push.
“We're not the quickest yet, but I think we're on our way. It's the first time we've driven down the straight without bouncing. We still have some bouncing, but it’s way better.”
Russell said the W13 felt different from how it was before as a result of the tweaks that have been made to it for this weekend.
“The car is definitely reacting differently,” he explained. “We've got different limitations this time. We definitely don't have the porpoising on the straight, which is good, but we're still experiencing a bit here and there in the corners, which ultimately you need to dial out.”
FIA clears Aston Martin over Red Bull F1 car design similarities after investigationEverso Biggyballies wrote: ↑1 year agoLol indeed they are just showing the green Red Bull on the Sky broadcast now. Apparently Red Bull are a bit miffed.
The fine line re IP is that staff transfer is covered.... in a nutshell whats in your head is ok, what you sneak out on a portable HD isnt.“The investigation, which involved CAD checks and a detailed analysis of the development process adopted by Aston Martin, confirmed that no wrongdoing had been committed, and therefore the FIA considers that the Aston Martin aerodynamic upgrades are compliant,” the statement from the FIA reads.
“Article 17.3 specifically defines and prohibits “Reverse Engineering”, i.e. the digital process of converting photographs (or other data) to CAD models, and prohibits IP transfer between teams, but equally, this Article permits car designs getting influenced by those of competitors, as has always been the case in Formula 1.
“In the analysis we carried out we confirmed that the processes followed by Aston Martin were consistent with this Article’s requirements.”
