Another crash for Bautista in Laguna Seca R1
He needs to start keeping the bike on its wheels and himself in the seat otherwise his great season start will be all for nowt.
He went from 61 pts ahead to 49 pts behind Reminds me of that season when Edwards reeled in Bayliss from miles behind as well.
2002, I mentioned that year much earlier in this thread. Back then Bayliss looked entirely in control (like Bautista did), but Edwards finished every race bar one (4th) on the podium whereas Bayliss had a couple of off color races including that infamous and amazing race one at Silverstone plus had a DNF at the penultimate round.
Like you said, since leading by 61 points after Jerez the following rounds have been damaging to Bautista’s points score as well as his bike. Rea has yet to fail to score and only finished off the podium three times whereas Bautista has failed to score five times now.
