At around 1310 hours on Saturday 10 October 2015, police and emergency services responded to reports of a serious crash involving participants of the Mull Motor Rally.
Driver, John MacCrone, aged 46, was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow to receive treatment for serious injuries.
Co-driver, Andy Mort, aged 47, was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident by paramedics. His family have been informed. A post mortem will be conducted in due course and a report will be submitted to Procurator Fiscal Service.
