thumbnails for big pictures in a post

How do you get a thumbnail shown instead of the pure link when posting scans of a magazine article? which code does this?

I have tried it earlier but the preview only showed either the links or the scans in original size . I guess original size with 1700x2338 is a tad to high to be directly posted

If you upload these scans to Imageshack, you get a "Thumbnail for forums (1)" code, which is just what you need. If you've got the link for the full size scan on Imageshack, change x.jpg to x.th.jpg in the link and you get what you want as well.
