I saw the free practice and pre-qualification today. They managed just to be with the first 15 cars of a big grid of over 50 cars. Which is not bad. And the championship is taken seriously by the manufactures. A lot of big names here.

Also the GT4 and the Lamborghini Super Trofeo races are this weekend at Imola.

Oh, and beware of the chatbox: a LOT of "Vale-bots". Since Rossi races in the GTWC series he also brought in the fans who have no clue what endurance racing is. No clue that the #46 car is being shared by three drivers. No idea why the bike of Vale has a roof and two extra wheels. No idea that race is a timed race ("how many laps is this race?" And above all: they expect Vale to win. And if not they will brainstorm for any idea Vale still can win the race even when he is 5 laps down.
TOTAL NOOBS. Add the sim-racing fans "Which game is this", the "F1 is tha thing" fans, talking about Fraudilton and Crashtappen. And you know the quality of the chat box.
Brian Redman: "Mr. Fangio, how do you come so fast?" "More throttle, less brakes...."

I have no idea why people are even using the youtube chatbox.

For some it is a bit like going to the pub to watch a football match. Watching an endurance race (ok, 3 hours is for us a sprint race) alone in front of a screen is a bit boring.

and tbh, not the most interesting race, weird crash under the safety car. Still, I really feel like following this series more closely this year. Caught up with last year over the winter and it is great fun.

Not a bad race. Imola is a difficult to overtake on. Tamburello and Rivazza are good spots. The pitstop of Valentino Rossi is under investigation atm.
