The Moroccan race was rather interesting. Long straights broken up by chicanes on a street circuit provided a relatively unique challenge and being touring car racing, they were nose to tail throughout the races.

According to this week's Autosport magazine BMW Germany have lodged a protest against the SEATs turbo diesels following last weekends races. Apparantly BMW want clarification about the boost the SEATs are able to run.

The second WTCC race in Pau has just been halted following a rather hectic and messy first lap, with multiple accidents including leader Franz Engstler hitting the safety car at speed. It has to be one of the most amazing / stupid things I have ever seen, and Engstler is blameless. As he was coming around T1 at almost full speed the safety car exited the pitlane and drove into the middle of the road. Thankfully all involved are ok.

It wasn't middle of the road, the safety car came straight into the racing line and left nowhere to go for Engstler. A completely pointless incident, and it robbed Ensgtler from a very realistic chance to win the whole race.kals wrote:The second WTCC race in Pau has just been halted following a rather hectic and messy first lap, with multiple accidents including leader Franz Engstler hitting the safety car at speed. I hardly ever watch WTCC, maybe once or twice a year, but I did see today's second race. What a first lap that was, that Safety Car crash was one of the most bizzare and hard to believe motorsport incidents I ever saw live. Could have lead to a pretty nasty outcome if the impact angle had been any wider. I was surprised they actually had a spare Safety Car.
I've had great races in the past, but I'm looking for the best one in the future. - Ayrton Senna

I am still amazed that incident happened. I don't think you can only blame the SC driver, as it was a total failure of the coordination around the control of the race.
I would like to thank the FIA for finally penalising the cheating Seats before last weekend. It was a pleasure to watch those yellow cars trailing around near the back for most of the first race and being overtaken by privateer petrol powered Leons.
