SVG can't pass Whincup for 2nd. Bit off-road and radio drama. Will Brown leads by 4 secs.

I wonder if SVG will bitch about Whincup's tactics a lot? Erebus boss trolling the T8 behaviour already.

Well I just caught up with the race making sure not to go online for any spoilers.
Could not believe the RB antics.... they put on a great show, (thank you) but it cost them the win for sure.

The whole thing was as has been said hilarious, and all the radio chat, the Erebus piss-taking, all brilliant, but im super pumped for Will Brown. After a number of things out of his control delaying the win it was good to see it all fall in place.

When I saw him stop much earlier, and then saw that when the RB's did pit and Will had a few seconds lead, I thought hey Will is in with a chance here, but until the last lap thought he was going to get caught and swallowed up. Especially when I saw drops of rain appearing. I must admit for the sake of Will I was really hoping the skies did not open.... normally I would have been doing a rain dance.

I would really l have loved to have been a fly on the wall at the RB debrief this evening. Sounds like RD wasnt impressed, and the 'Dutto' "yes I had 5 texts during the last laps from RD" comment was gold.

Well, we had a great day of racing today.... yesterday was a bit ordinary compared to today, but I cant remember races like today at Eastern Creek or SMP! Good to see a new winner and someone else other that RBR or DJR..... seems Anton must have used his rubber up earlier in the weekend, as in the last race he just looked lost. 9th was unexpected.

Thanks @Vassago for doing the blow by blow bit. Good work.

Im almost looking forward to another weekend at SMP next weekend!

Matt Campbell will not be getting a solo outing at KGR pre Bathurst.

With KGR needing to fill its #26 entry for three rounds at Sydney Motorsport Park, (to cover the vax related absence of Reynolds) including this weekend’s Sydney SuperNight, Campbell had been in line for a solo run to gain seat time pre Bathurst .

However, that has officially been quashed.

That is due to rules preventing teams from switching drivers between its entries for the enduros. Prior to 2010, teams could mix and match their drivers as they pleased for Bathurst.

Thus, Campbell would not be able to drive the #26 this weekend and then move back across the garage to the #7 for Bathurst.
(Campbell was a late call up to replace the travel / compromised original choice, Earl Bamber in the #7 Heimgartner car))

The upshot is that Luke Youlden will be back in action for a third straight weekend.

I just came to post that there was a strong chance that Reynolds will be back in action this weekend, following his forced absence due to a Covid Vax exemption status to be flawed.

Any way now that chance has become reality and has literally just been confirmed in the last few minutes......

Kelly Grove Racing confirms Reynolds return this weekend at SMP

Reynolds was thought to be unlikely to run at the fourth Sydney event due to the scheduling of his second COVID-19 vaccination dose which was booked to be just prior to the Repco Bathurst 1000.

However, David was earlier this week given his second dose ahead of schedule, thus permitting him to travel from Victoria to New South Wales and take part in this weekend's run at SMP..

KGR confirmed the news in a statement.
“Kelly Grove Racing is pleased to announce that David Reynolds will be returning for Round Eleven of the Supercars Championship this weekend,” the statement read.

“David is fully vaccinated and has fulfilled the requirements by NSW Health and Supercars to participate in this season’s penultimate event.

“Kelly Grove Racing would like to thank Luke Youlden for the phenomenal job he has done in David’s absence, and we are excited to have him back with us at the Bathurst 1000 early next month.”

SMP PART 4 IS THIS WEEKEND.

This weekend it is a different format, with just two races for the V8's but they are both 250 klm races, one a twilight race on Saturday and one a daylight race on Sunday. Will Anton De Pasquale continue his run of form seen here in recent weeks? Will Will Brown and Erebus continue their improved performances.
The V8's will be using a combination of hard and super soft rubber so strategies will come into play.

Decent support categories as. well with the S5000 getting a run, along with Trans Am Super 2 and Super 3.

The weather forecast yesterday was rain on Friday Saturday and Sunday, but today it seems to have improved. The broadcast does not start here for another hour so I cant give you an actual weather.

We know Reynolds is back in the #26 Penrite Kelly Grove car.

Action starts today, albeit just practice and qualifying with racing starting tomorrow.
