Percat is only 28 seconds ahead of Heimgartner with 37sec pit travel so Heimgartner just has just got to ensure he has a 5+ second gap to Mostert to cover his penalty and still win.

Heimgartner has his wipers on intermittently so maybe there is some rain. He just had a big moment. 6 laps to go.

Percat must be praying for an SC as he is yet to stop still.

Percat pits and SVG goes off track now 16th.
Percat rejoins 3rd ahead (just) of De Pasquale.

2 laps to go . A first V8SC win on the cards I think.
Percats tyres are warmed up now, and fresh..... he is closing on ADP who just passed him. but only a lap and a half to go. We have a fight for 3rd.

RE SVG yeah thats weird. He was showing right down and he lost places for sure.

Last lap for Heimgartner.

Great drive from him regardless, all day with pole and a race domination.

He wins.

Lol Percat lost out to Waters in the end. Still a great race and strategy from last to 5th.

That's great. First win after many years in the series (and after losing his drive for a year or two early on)

First win in 160th race. What is the series record for most starts before the first win?

I think it might be Paul Dumbrell. If my maths is correct his first win wasn't until his 241st start in the series. Though in terms of years he'd be smashed by Luke Youlden who had his only win in I think his 18th Bathurst 1000, but he never ran a single driver race so doesn't have that many starts.
