Opening bids roll in for Supercars buy-out

I mentioned up the page and outlined the plan for Archer Capital to get out of their Supercars majority ownership. Momentum has gained at a quick pace as it seems they are now very keen to sell..... this year was said to be the timeframe but it seems that it could be sooner than that, even by September for a deal to be finalised in the lead-up to the Bathurst 1000 (October 7-10.)

Today was the final day for initial interest and bids to be in for evaluation and further negotiation. It wont be just down to price but the sale will be to the bid that seems best for the future of Supercars to be sustained.

It seems there are four initial parties who have submitted notification of interest, three whose identity have been confirmed.

It seems like the pricing will be well below the 200 plus million Archer Capital paid for Supercars. (The teams own 35% via their REC's, Archer 65%). Talks seem to be at a top end of $60million

Just an udate on the sale of Supercars.... Initial bids, some from known sources and others were submitted recently. It seems one of the unknown sources is that of "The Bend" bidding to buy Supercars. The Bend is owned by the Shahin family business Peregrine Corporation, the largest private business in SA. (They can afford it in other words)

The Bend is vying to become the bonafide home of the Repco Supercars Championship, Speedcafe.com can reveal.

It is understood The Bend is the latest party to submit a formal bid to acquire the Supercars business.

Amid growing speculation that The Bend has lodged a bid, circuit owner Sam Shahin did little to hose down the rumours.

“I cannot confirm nor deny any speculation,” Shahin said in a statement provided to Speedcafe.com.

“We are in the business of motorsport and will diligently explore any opportunity involving the sport.”

The Bend Motorsport Park falls under the Peregrine Corporation, which owns On The Run service stations among its South Australian-based businesses.

Peregrine Corporation is said to be the largest company in the state and among the top 10 in Australia.

The bid from The Bend has been submitted to Miles Advisory Partners, which has been tasked with facilitating the sale of Supercars on behalf of Archer Capital.
