Bottom post of the previous page:

Cant see that Scott will risk anything drastic if SVG gets aggressive, and think he will not defend too hard given Whincup is down in tenth and over 200 points behind in the title race. But maybe, with 2 laps to go and no change, maybe the edge has gone from SVG's tyres..

McLaughlin looks to be faster in the second half of the lap.

Without a T6 divebomb SVG won't pass him IMO.

Yeah I thought Hazlewood was up for a penalty there.
Tbh they didn't really show a good angle of it so who knows really. It looked like he was fairly far up the inside before the apex at least.

Scott wins a pretty important victory. Not sure why Jamie is struggling for pace so much atm. Not a very interesting race overall.

Scott extends his championship over Whincup, bags 100 points for the win so gap now 263 points, with 200 more available for the two races tomorrow and 300 for Bathurst.

Another bad day tomorrow for Whincup, and a trouble free run from Scott and it could be all over before Bathurst.

Whincup seems to be struggling with tyre grip more than anything else. He also botched two quals here at The Bend with some weird sliding around.

McLaughlin on pole for both today's races.

Alex Davison won't take part in today's races due to an engine failure.

And it was basically the opposite for T888 today, with SVG having a shocker and Whincup qualifying 3rd and 4th. Incidentally if Jamie finishes in those places in the races today he'll score 166 points (he needs 164 to stay in title contention for Bathurst if McLaughlin wins both races)

Reynolds looks to have a transaxle issue and Coulthard rolls out into the grass with mechanical issues too.

Safety Car!

McLaughlin leads and Whincup is 6th. If Jamie loses another two places then McLaughlin will sew up the championship (presuming he finishes ahead of Jamie in the next race)

SVG has new tires and I wonder if he passes Whincup once he catches up with him?

McLauglin wins.

So he only needs to finish ahead of Whincup in Race 2 to win the title. 299 pts difference now.
