LOL!Ambrose to drive Cup car for Robby Gordon
Robby Gordon will exact his revenge at Watkins Glen this weekend.
Not only will Gordon be racing the No. 7 Ford, the team owner will field a second car — the No. 77 — for Busch Series regular Marcos Ambrose, who he fiercely battled in the closing laps of the NAPA Auto Parts 200 at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Saturday.
"Marcos did a helluva job," Gordon said. "He led a lot of laps on Saturday. It will be great to have him as my teammate."
Ambrose, who drives the No. 59 Kingsford Ford for Wood Brothers/JTG Racing, qualified fifth and led the most laps before Gordon spun him out with two laps remaining in the event. Ambrose finished seventh and is currently eighth in the Busch Series point standings.
If he qualifies for the race, Sunday will mark the Nextel Cup debut for the 30-year-old Launceston, Tasmania native who began his career in NASCAR with the Wood Brothers last season.

Autosport wrote:Elliot hands car to Said
Bill Elliot will sit out the rest of the weekend at Watkins Glen after handing out his drive to road course specialist Boris Said, who was unable to qualify for the Nextel Cup race after qualifying was rained out.
Said had been hoping to put his No. 60 No Fear Ford Fusion on the grid for Sunday, but the rain prevented him from doing so. He had previously lost a likely pole position at Daytona for the same reason last month.
But Said was then surprised when Elliot, whose car is on the grid thanks to his past champion status, asked him if he wanted to drive his No. 21 Wood Brothers Ford in Sunday's race.
Said, who has worked for Wood Brothers in the past as a driver coach, will make his fourth Nextel Cup start of the season on Sunday at Watkins Glen, where he finished third two years ago. He is also competing in today's Busch race.
Quite surprising, because Bill is a pretty darn good road racer himself. Won his first Cup race at Riverside in 1980.Seppi wrote:Autosport wrote:Elliot hands car to Said
