Bottom post of the previous page:

Did you also read that article on ESPN from that guy who made the COT. He was going like these modern stockcars look like they´ve been a wreck. Because of aerodynamics the whole car is messed up. The COT will have a normal shape again and bring the car back into stockcar.

Yep, that's a fact. If you look at the current stock cars from front they look like one side was slurped by a giant ant-eater.. or something. :P

The one thing I never understood is why in recent times didn't NASCAR mandate the super speedway-style front ends to all the tracks. The intermediate or short track front end/nose section tapers down so low that its a direct fit under the rear bumper of the car in front and that's bad for obvious reasons. :(

Maybe we should make em run totally stock Fords and Chevys complete with working cigarette lighter and operating windows like they used to.

Well, I guess they don't look all that bad, after seeing them run.
What if?

Well, everything except Burtons driving. Cars were spinning out without anyone touching em, which I havent seen a lot at Bristol before. But I think Bristol is a very inappropiate place to test these cars, as aerodynamics barely matters there.

It was a fairly good race, but as mentioned not a real test for the COT.
I was happy about the clean driving in the end. Good thing it was among drivers that respect eachother. What also helped was that these cars can handle a bump from behind pretty good because of the lack of curves on the noses, they don't lift the rear end up this way.

On to the next one

What they man by "stock" now is that the cars are all the same.

They said they wanted to see how the cars would react to crashing. Better to do it there, than at, say, Talladega, you know?

Comparing NASCAR's evolution to Formula 1's I honestly think this COT is a sexy bitch. F1's are looking more and more ridiculous.

But back on topic.. I liked the old look better. I think it will grow on me.

Yeh, compared with the insects in modern F1, these arent so bad. but bad compared to the older cars or the aerocars of the early 70s

Kudos to Kyle Busch who said they sucked on live television after his win last Sunday. I have never liked before but I might start now
