stick to Clover, Chip.
I'm sure Chip would love to stick with Clover, but I doubt Clover wants to pay for the full season.

Apparently there was no running prior to the race?

So no practice, no qualifying, no warmup - just the race.
Is this the format for all races?

Because of covid yes, except for 8 races, which are either new to the schedule or high profile races

The 8 races with practice/qualifying are:

Daytona 500 (high profile race)
Bristol dirt race (new track configuration)
Circuit of the Americas (new to the schedule)
Coca Cola 600 (high profile race)
Nashville (new to the schedule)
Road America (new to the schedule)
Indy road course (new track configuration)
Championship race at Phoenix (high profile race)

@Antonov -
'Been a number of years since I followed NASCRAP....errrr....NASCAR....closely but XFinity/Cup typically went something like.....

Friday - X&C practice sessions and Cup qualifying in the afternoon
Saturday - X&C practice with X qual in the morning; X race in the late afternoon-early evening
Sunday - C race in the afternoon
Also, all the above varied for Sat. night Cup races and other such variances. ;)

If the trucks ( ???.....tube frame race chassis that have "look like" pickup trucks bodies....same as X&C ain't Camaros, Mustangs, or SuprasCamrys) ran the same track on the weekend, they'd usually race Friday night. 'Could be wrong about that, didn't follow them at all......

"Are all cars in Nascar the same?
NASCAR cars aren't all the same." (my insert...Oh...??? Then why the following?...) "While NASCAR's regulations require teams and manufacturers to comply with a stringent set of specifications, what distinguishes between the different NASCAR cars are their engines and body shells. ... Three manufacturers compete in NASCAR's top-tier Cup Series: Chevrolet, Ford and Toyota." (Ala IndyCar where the cars are exactly the same Dallara DW12s with leased and sealed "Honda" or "Chevrolet", engines)
Those were the days my friends, we thought they'd never end.....

The second post on page 1 features the extended highlights of the points-paying Cup Series races (+/- 10 minutes per race).
Obviously a list which is going to grow throughout the season.

John Hunter Nemechek wins the truck race at Las Vegas, Kyle Busch finishes second after coming back from a spin early in the race due to a flat tire. Busch had a one word response to a question asking him what happened..

The fine for intentionally spinning yourself out to bring out a caution when you have a mechanical problem is $50,000, along with a 50 point penalty.

The master of the n-word wins in Las Vegas.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.
