Bottom post of the previous page:

Stewart won the title in 2011 by not winning a race before the Chase. There he won 5 out of 10 races.
Brian Redman: "Mr. Fangio, how do you come so fast?" "More throttle, less brakes...."

I hate to say this but Regan Smith has made an absolute fool of himself on twitter tonight, he's likely drunk

Surprised NASCAR haven't been able to get a sponsor for this race, it's just called the "Season Finale 500", one of the worst sounding race names I can remember.

The short-lived Helluva Good Sour Cream Dips at the Glen was probably the worst name for a NASCAR race in my memory. It was helluva bad indeed!

Food City 500 is probably my favorite name. I started watching NASCAR in 1993 and the name is still there 27 years later.

I also enjoyed the short-lived Die Hard 500 name (Talladega spring race).

Food City have sponsored the Spring Bristol race since 1992, by far the longest race name sponsor at the moment.

It was called the Jeff Byrd 500 in 2011 to honor the long serving track president who died the year prior, In 2015 it was called the Food City 500 In Support of Steve Byrnes, the popular NASCAR TV personality who died 2 days after the race of cancer, and this year was named the Food City Presents the Supermarket Heroes 500 in honor of Supermarket workers, working during the pandemic.

The current Watkins Glen race is named Go Bowling at the Glen, which is one of my current favorites, I also liked the EA Sports 500 which was the Fall Talladega race name from 2001-2004.

Budweiser at The Glen was a simple name that stuck for a while. Miller brewery also sponsored multiple NASCAR races not to mention Busch as title sponsor. But the alcohol companies have bailed out on sponsoring NASCAR in the last few years. Dixie Vodka was the only 2020 race that had a liquor sponsor IIRC.

A champion will be crowned in the NASCAR Truck series today, with Grant Enfinger, Zane Smith, Sheldon Creed and Brett Moffitt in the running. Only Moffitt has won a championship in the past, and a victory for him will be a great story as while the season was shutdown earlier this year, he broke both legs in a motorcycle accident.

Gallagher Motorsports have 3 of their trucks in the championship 4 driven by Smith, Creed and Moffitt, while Enfinger will carry the flag for Thorsport, who are looking for their 4th championship as a team and a second in a row after Matt Crafton's win last year, A victory for Enfinger will make Thorsport the leading team outright by championship count in the truck series, they are currently tied with Hendrick Motorsports (1997, 1999, 2001) on 3.

Race begins from Phoenix Raceway at 8pm EST / 5pm PST / 1am GMT / 12pm AEDT.

could someone explain the rules about the apron to me please?

was it Kansas (?) I saw them racing under the yellow line. I always thought you couldn't go under it.

I ask, because Phoenix too might be such a race in which the apron is 'cut'

Yellow line only applies at Daytona and Talladega aka the "Superspeedways"

Wow, Brett Moffitt was heading towards his second truck series championship when Dawson Cram crashed with 3 laps to go, erasing his 4 second lead. Moffitt was not pleased. Now heading to Overtime

Sheldon Creed wins the NASCAR Truck series championship coming from 8th with fresh tires on the final restart! Brett Moffitt fell all the way to 10th after getting contact from behind and being on older tires.

ol' Sheldon was kicking it with us at Millbridge Speedway earlier this week! Cool to see him win out.
