Very concerned about the race tomorrow, the xfinity race run in the rain while a great spectacle, the track isn’t designed to deal with the amount of water we saw today, especially on the oval parts and lead to massive puddles.
It was a hell of a race, but I agree. Even Denny Hamlin was like "this is why we need to race at more purpose-built road courses".
It’s a shame Jones can’t find funding, has had 3 pretty consistent seasons considering he’s basically the 4th JGR car, COVID has really put a massive squeeze on drivers who don’t have a lot of sponsors they can bring themselves.
2012 NASCAR Trucks champion James Buescher will return to NASCAR running for Neice Motorsports in the truck series at Texas, his last start came in 2015.
Aside from the spectacular accidents in tonights Xfinity series race which overshadows great runs from both Austin Hill and Josh Williams finishing P5 and P6 with small teams. Chase Briscoe also now holds the record for the most wins in a single Xfinity season by a non cup series driver with 9.
Hendrick Motorsports are likely to renumber the #88 back to one of their traditional car numbers the #5 or #25 for next season. #5 last run in the cup series in 2017 while #25 was last used for a full time season in 2007, although it was used part time by Brad Keselowski for nine races across 2008-09 and five races with Chase Elliott in 2015.
