I wonder if Nascar will ever have the guts to shorten the majority of the races down to 250-350 miles. And just keep a select few longer races, like the Daytona 500, Southern 500, Coke 600, etc.

Between all these wrecks there's actually some pretty fun racing. Watching Stenhouse Jr. blocking every single car on the track all the time was pretty amusing.

Driver of the cup series #36 car Matt Tifft will sit out the remainder of the season after suffering a seizure on Saturday, Tifft was replaced for the race at Martinsville by Matt Crafton, he will replaced for the rest of the season by Xfinity series driver John Hunter-Nemechek, son of long time journeyman Joe Nemechek.

In other news Floyd Mayweather has stated he has started a cup series team, “Money team racing” and plans to make their debut in the final race of the season, no driver has been announced, Let’s hope they turn out better then Obiaka racing, who had planned to run full time this season however haven’t attempted a race.

Reddick wins his second Xfinity title in a row for two different teams, and will move up to Cup next year, continuing with RCR. Good for him.

Christopher Bell, meanwhile, will replace Matt diBenedetto in the No. 95 Leavine car, who is headed to the prestigious Wood Bros No. 21.

Was Kyle Busch a "deserved champion" or it was like last year with Logano?

All came down to the crew not making mistakes really. Truex's crew put left side tyres on the right, while Hamlin's boys put enough tape on his grille to cover half of Texas, leading to overheating.

Kyle's crew simply didn't go out of their way to shoot themselves in the foot like Truex and Hamlin's, while Harvick's only shot was a late restart to take advantage of his short-run speed.

56 wins, 200 top 5’s and 296 top 10’s from 534 cup races, so I’d say yes. He would of finished first in old point format as well, beating Harvick by 2 points. This is his real “first” championship if you ask me since he missed 9 races in 2015 but won because of the “win and make playoffs” rule :sarcasm:. Kyle would of won last year in the old point format.

It feels like the same drivers would win the titles, just in different seasons.

Reddick had like 7 Top 5s when he won the Busch title last season, he had 20 Top 5s this season.

Even the old NASCAR point system would make Shrub's 2015 title impossible. Didier Pironi could still have won 1982 F1 WDC despite sitting out six races (he led the points after 4 of these six rounds IIRC).
