I remember the old days watching Nascar repeats on Eurosport with Rusty Wallace, Dale Earnhardt and Jeff Gordon taking the wins.
Makes me feel old, but on the other hand, it shows how long Gordon had raced at the very top of Nascar. That is a feat in itself.

Considering the total lack of crowd noise when Kyle won, I did wonder if Nascar had pumped out canned cheering when Kyle got out of his car in victory lane.

And there in lies the oddities of the Chase format.
I've seen a lot of complaints about Kyle Busch winning the title despite missing 11 races due to his Daytona injury. Where was he placed before the first Chase round? Even with all his wins I know he wasn't an automatic qualifier.
