[NASCAR] 2013 Season Discussion
With the 2012 season in the record books, we turn to the 2013 NASCAR season, where there are many exciting things to look forward to.
Newly-crowned champion Brad Keselowski and the rest of the Sprint Cup drivers will be taking the wheel of a brand new generation of NASCAR stock car. Brand identity is the name of the game, as next year's Ford Fusion, Toyota Camry, and Chevrolet SS stock cars have been designed to more closely resemble their production model counterparts, a detail that's been lost on previous generations, especially on the often-criticized COT platform. "Silly Season" meanwhile has long been in full swing. Among the biggest news stories: Joey Logano teaming with "Brad K" at Penske Racing (under Ford badging), Matt Kenseth taking Logano's place at Joe Gibbs Racing, and back-to-back Nationwide Series champion Ricky Stenhouse Jr. getting his big break in Kenseth's #17.
The Nationwide Series sees the addition of the twisting 2.4-mile Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course to run on August 17th, along with a reduced field to curb some of the "start-and-park" problems, and the Camaro hits the track.
The Camping World Truck Series has two huge additions to its racing schedule. On September 24th, the series will take on Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, marking the first non-U.S outing for the Trucks, and the first road course on the schedule since 2000. The 3.957 km road course best known as Mosport hosted Formula 1 between 1967-1977, and in recent years has hosted NASCAR's Canadian developmental series, the Canadian Tire Series. The other big event comes on July 24th, when the Truck boys get to play in the dirt at the 1/2-mile Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. Owned by 3-time Cup champion Tony Stewart, it will mark the first time since 1970 that one of NASCAR's three premier racing divisions competes on a dirt track.

You know they're proposing to change the trucks to bring them "in line with the Nationwide & Cup cars" in 2014, so saviour the Trucks next year as much as you can cos they'll fuck them senseless in 2014.
Eldora will be the highlight of the year, not really sure why NASCAR choose to send the NWS to Road Atlanta (or wherever it is) instead of Mosport, should have sent both series there together.
Better still, should give Eldora a date for all 3, if it doesn't turn into a cluckerfest.

These cars look awesome!!
btw i am still looking for a good broadcast. It seems as if some European broadcasters are showing Nascar but not in all countries.

It does indeed Simon, but they've sent the NWS to Mid-Ohio.
I thought they were on the same dates, but NWS is on an off week when Trucks goto Mosport.

I'd take Mid-Ohio over Mosport.Ian-S wrote:It does indeed Simon, but they've sent the NWS to Mid-Ohio.

I consider Mosport as the better circuit. Mid Ohio has too many corners.

I've never really got the obsession with Mid Ohio. It's ok but nothing more. Mosport is and always has been amazing.
